Hi! I’m Nelson.

Hey there! I’m Nelson – just your average guy…who also happens to be a nurse! I’ve been in the healthcare game for 8 years now, and let me tell you, it’s been one heck of a ride.

I kicked off my nursing career in the world of psychiatric care, where every day brought new challenges and rewards. But then, an offer came my way that was too good to pass up – a chance to dive into surgery with a sweet sign-on bonus that had every new grad’s head turning.

Even though the operating room pays the bills (and then some), my heart still has a soft spot for psychiatric nursing. If surgery hadn’t come knocking, you’d probably find me navigating the ins and outs of mental health in that world.

Now, as an OR nurse, I wear a couple of extra hats that make my job even more fulfilling. I get to teach the PMDB (Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior) class to our amazing staff across the hospital. Plus, I’m the go-to person leading the charge on our Annual Employee Satisfaction committee, making sure our workplace is as awesome as it can be.

In 2023, I decided to dive into the digital world and started my first blog at nelsonrmarquez.com. It’s been a wild ride learning the ropes of digital marketing and SEO, all while sharing my thoughts on nurse entrepreneurship.

This year, I launched happinated.com – a place dedicated to spreading good vibes and promoting mental health. It’s my way of making a positive impact beyond the hospital walls.
